Jumping, its a direct indication of power. The more power one has the higher he or she will jump. Not to be confused with by strength, power is very different. While there may be some correlation between the two they are undoubtably not equal. Strength is simply assed by how much one can lift in respected lift, power on the other hand is measured in several ways: basketball players jumping, shot putters throwing, baseball players hitting and pitching, swimmers diving off the blocks, and golfers driving of the T-box can all be measure of power. Rolfeses definition of power is the amount of synergistic energy one can generate in a single burst, when engaging multiple muscle groups primarily around the hips.

Rolfes believes olympic lifting (Snatch, Clean, and Jerk)are three movements that can be performed in the gym where athlete will see these results transfer directly to the field,court,pool, and course. These exercise promote the growth of fast twitch muscle fibers that are essential to the performance of any athlete who takes their game seriously. These exercise also work the largest muscle groups in the body together simultaneously, which naturally causes the increase of your bodies growth hormones.
